Is therapy really for me? I’ve always handled things on my own.
Absolutely. Seeking support doesn’t mean you’re weak—it means you’re human. It takes strength and self-awareness to recognize when you want something to shift. Therapy is a space to explore things with care and intention—not because you can’t cope, but because you don’t have to do it all alone.
How is talking to a therapist different from talking to a friend?
Friends are amazing, and emotional support matters. But therapy is different—it’s a protected space with someone trained to listen, guide, and challenge you in a way that’s centered on you. No judgment, no advice-giving, and no history or expectations. Just clear, grounded support focused on your growth and goals.
Do I really need therapy—or would medication be better?
Medication can help, especially with certain symptoms, but it usually works best alongside therapy. Therapy gets to the heart of things—helping you understand patterns, process experiences, and build sustainable change. If you’re curious about medication, we can talk about how to explore that with a provider.
What do we actually do in sessions?
Every session is a little different because it’s shaped around you. Sometimes we’ll unpack something heavy. Other times we’ll explore patterns, set goals, or just pause and reflect. There’s no pressure to perform—you just show up, and we’ll figure it out together.
How long does therapy take?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people come in with a clear short-term goal. Others stay for ongoing support and deeper work. We’ll check in about progress as we go, and you’ll always have a say in the pace and direction of your care.
What can I do to get the most out of therapy?
Be honest. Be curious. Show up—even when it’s hard. Therapy works best when you’re engaged and open, but it’s also okay to come in messy or unsure. We’ll take it one step at a time, together.
What’s Glenn’s approach to therapy?
Glenn’s style is warm, grounded, and real. He values showing up authentically with clients and creating space for reflection, connection, and growth. He works from a trauma-informed, relational, and strength-based lens—drawing from CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches depending on what fits you.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, identity, burnout, or something harder to name, you can expect to feel heard, respected, and gently challenged as you move toward what matters most.
Do you take insurance? What are your rates?
We’re currently not in network with commercial insurance. But we are actively working to contract with Kaiser Permanente, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, and Aetna to start.
If you’re using out-of-network benefits, you can use our tool Mentaya to help simplify the process.
Mentaya helps our clients with out-of-network benefits submit claims and get reimbursed more easily—and they only charge a small fee if you get money back. It’s a great option if you’d rather not deal with paperwork.
Our self-pay rate is $150 per 55-minute session.
We’re happy to walk you through the options. You can also visit our Rates & Insurance page for more info and questions to ask your insurance provider.
